Data deletion policy

At babaloo, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. In line with Facebook’s Platform Terms and data protection regulations, we offer all users the ability to request deletion of their data.

How to request data deletion

If you’d like us to delete any personal data we hold about you, please email us at hello@babaloo.com.au.

To request deletion of data that we’ve received from Facebook (such as your email address or other personal information), follow these steps:

1. Go to your Facebook settings
   
   Head to your Facebook Settings and click on Apps and Websites. Find babaloo in the list and remove the app or disconnect your Facebook data.
   
2. Data deletion request triggered
   
   Once babaloo is removed, Meta will automatically send us a signed data deletion request. This includes an app-scoped ID that identifies you as the user.
   
3. Confirmation and processing
   
   We’ll process your deletion request within 30 days in line with relevant data protection laws. You’ll receive a confirmation email from us with a reference number and a link to check the status of your request.
   
4. Status updates
   
   We’ll provide a clear explanation of the outcome—whether your data has been deleted or if there’s a legitimate reason we can’t fulfil the request. If so, we’ll explain why (e.g. legal or contractual obligations).
   

What happens to your data after deletion

Once processed, all personal data we’ve received from Facebook (such as your email or other shared details) will be permanently deleted from our system unless we’re required to retain it by law.

Exceptions

In some cases, we may be unable to fulfil your deletion request if:

• We’re legally required to keep certain information for compliance, tax, or regulatory reasons
• There are contractual obligations that require us to retain the data

If any of the above apply, we’ll let you know and explain why we can’t delete the data right now.

Security of your data

Your data is handled securely and stored using industry-standard protections. Only authorised team members have access, and once a deletion request is completed, we ensure that your data is fully removed from our systems.
